RMT Would like to share something that has encouraged us. We pose the question. What is happiness? What makes you happy?

While reading Devon Franklin's book, Produced By Faith, this quote stuck with me. This is what it's all about. Our talents and skills used for the glory of God, allowing others to see Him through us. In all we do, we should always keep in mind what our purpose is. 

Don't let what you think the worlds perception of you stop you from doing what you want to do. Whether it's be becoming a neurosurgeon, graphic designer, or owning your own business. Don't think you have to change what makes you YOU in order to go forth and change the world. I myself grew up in an underprivileged community the majority of my life. Even right now, the community that I live in is considered, to some, as underprivileged. I understand how it might be hard to find motivation to do the things that you long for deep down because of lack of self-confidence, support, and even acceptance.  But what I learned is that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Phil 4:13. Through His strength we are more than conquerors. With this in mind, we can tap into our full potential, do what you love, and fulfill His purpose.

So never give-up. If you're passionate about something or you have a gift that you want to share with others go for it! God can use anyone for anything, anywhere. By limiting ourselves, we are preventing great things to happen. At the end of the day BE YOU and remember the endgame!

Hello Friends,

As you may know, Revive My Turf is a Christian organization that focus on youth involvement in their communities. Some of you has asked me to give you an idea of where/what I see RMT being in the near future. I can tell you right now that RMT's main goal in a nutshell is to reach out to the youth who have a passion for art and design and give them a chance to apply it with their walk with Christ. If the youth involved leave with more confidence to go out and impact the world with their gifts, we at RMT feel like we have accomplished a great deal. 

However, there are some groups and organizations that do take on a similar approach to youth involvement in artistic application. One example would have to be the If You Build It Project led by Emily Pilloton and Matthew Miller. With the help of these two designer-activists, a group of high school students from Bertie County, NC were able to build a community shed.  Although their scale is slighter larger than RMT, the idea of youth and community involvement and self-recognition is relevant in the whole process. 

Now imagine how great this would be if sharing the love of God was at the center of it?! We would be reaching out to those in need through design. Often times we think that in order to do what God has called us to do we have to be a pastor or minister. But there are other ways that we can show who God is.  You don't have to be in the field of theology to do the will of the Lord. To the young people reading this, you should know that there are multiple ways to go out and impact the world! If you crave for the opportunity to use your skills in your community, RMT is a great place to be!
