WHAT IS REVIVE MY TURF (RMT)?
ReviveMyTurf is an upcoming Christian non-profit organization that presents the youth with the opportunity to be humanitarian designers for their community. Headquartered in the Boston area, the mission of RMT is to minister to people in underprivileged communities by facilitating local involvement in potential small scale projects.
WHY RMT?
The youth from disadvantaged areas, especially teenagers, are being viewed by their perceived inadequacies and not by their ability to do good. Even in current news we see the result of what prejudice can do; this has to change! ReviveMyTurf aims to break the cycle through artistic application. There is a need for organizations like this, to present to the youth with the opportunity to positively apply their artistic skills in their church, neighborhood, and community. This organization would allow the youth to change the way people view them and most importantly how they view themselves. What we want to emphasize is that the youth can:
- Show the Love of God
- Recognize Who They Are
- Realize Their Potential
- Positively Impact Lives
HOW ARE WE GOING TO DO THIS?
One of the reasons for this blog is to provide access to anyone interested in ReviveMyTurf's progress, giving way for possible involvement and support. We believe, by God's grace, that this organization can impact the lives of the youth and help them become community leaders. It is our goal that this organization will grow and become successful. RMT is fairly new, so we hope that as it develops, more people will be involved and these types of projects will expand.
